"Pebbles have been at our beaches for centuries but the sea water does not penetrate. The tenacity of the rock made me think of other ways of making the rocks a bit flexible, not by their sense of feel, but by composition and manipulation of colour, size, shape and surface quality in relation to other natural phenomenon. Pebbles represent our need to be not only firm in life, but sometimes also resilience."
