Open Arts Project, Busan, South Korea
The second piece I created was inspired by many artists (including the curator here, Sung Baeg) using ink in performance that creates a visual work, retaining a physical trace of the action.
Trace of the Storm' uses sounds of heavy rainfall recorded underwater at the site of the residency. These were played through a speaker placed on Korean paper and Korean ink poured into the speaker. When the sound plays, the speaker moves, and the ink is thrown out. The stronger the sound, the further the ink is thrown.
