Anke Mellin
Since the 1980ties my focus is nature in a broad sense. After a period of making art about various topics I became increasingly aware of the complex environmental problems our planet is experiencing due to the ever increasing abuse caused by human civilization. I created my works, organized and curated exhibitions, projects and symposia dealing with Land-, Nature- and Environmental Art.
Projects imbedded in local communities and environment where I collaborate with locals are of special interest. Through this interaction mutual understanding occurs; I learn about the local conditions and people learn about artistic processes. I want to encourage an interest in the natural world and develop consciousness for the fragility of our globe.
