Onur Findik

 

Artist Statement 

Onur Findik graduated from Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts, Ceramic and Glass Design Department in 2013 and received his master's degree from the same institution. He is currently continuing his proficiency in arts program at the same institute. In addition, he works as a lecturer at Usak University Faculty of Fine Arts Ceramics Department. Starting from his student years, he has been involved in organizations such as Symposiums, Workshops, National and International mixed exhibitions, as well as being invited to important Triennial and Biennial events. Onur Fındık has based on the unity of material-form-thought-action in his projects and focused on this issue. He has built large-scale architectural adobe sculptures with the influence of this idea in his recent works. In these projects, he considered the land as the return to the first one and highlighted thought, action, collective unity in the process. These studies seem to be the representations of the structure, which essentially contains the first affects (aesthetics) of man, what psychology today calls archaic remains. He compiled these projects in his master's thesis called “Form Production with Unfired Earthen Materials and an Adobe Project”.
