I work almost exclusively with the detail and pattern of the East Anglian landscape in which I live. My focus is the meeting point of inner and outer landscapes, where personal creativity is given inspiration and form by the fine structures of those elements and processes - flint, reed, earth, wind, tide- that combine to form this landscape. I mimic the eroding action of the waves upon the soft sands and clays of the cliffs. I make galaxies of starfish, beacons of berries. 

 

In my work with people, my aim is to foster and encourage a multi-sensory relationship with the natural world. I do this through offering creative ways of engaging with the materials and processes of landscape, and also with walking conversations, where the aim is to offer a dialogue with the land we are walking through, as well as with each other.

 

I have exhibited widely, both indoors and outdoors, in East Anglia and am at present artist in residence at Minsmere, a large bird reserve on the Suffolk coast.
