Growing up on a farm in the desert country of Namibia has greatly impacted and influenced my bond to nature. I am a multimedia artist, but am always drawn back to nature and the need to co-create and express myself directly with and through my surroundings. Sometimes serious and sometimes playful I enter into a visual dialogue with the land.

 

Since 2010 I have been researching and experimenting with 'rain making' whenever I am in Namibia as this is subject is close to my heart and art practice. My art circles around the question if and how the creative act can influence/change our reality in the sense of being able to make rain. I chose to focus on rain making as an example, as it is something we always need in Namibia and because most people are familiar with the idea of a raindance, and thus a bit more open to the idea that something like this just might work. 

 

I believe it does, and enjoy to research myths, stories, believes etc. and combine these with my art to find modern and creative ways to empower and inspire people. Basically I believe that through my art and rainmaking experiments I could help to remind people of their own personal power to change their reality.
