Nature is something that has always been there. It circulates in time and coexists with us. Nature Art is the language of the artist to sense the passage of time, to express the artist’s realizations through the natural materials she could discover in nature actively.
Nature is there. The artist has become the part of the system by assembling and dismantling its elements.
Hyunhie KO
Lives and works in Daejeon, South Korea.
BA(Hons) Fine Art graduate from Hannam University.
Since 1982, as a member of an artist group YATOO, nature and the artist’s thoughts have been merged. With the help of the objects she could find in nature, Hyun-hie specialized in Nature Art. Her works reflect Mother Nature and they can be installed outdoor or in a gallery space in consonance with her Fine Art background. Her last three solo exhibitions were held in India (2009, Jaipur), in the UK (2010, London), and in South Korea (2013, Wongol). The artist also has participated in the Geumgang Nature Art Biennale (Gongju, South Korea) in 2004, 2008, 2010, and 2012, and through her extensive travels, she has taken part in a large number of International Nature Art Symposiums that held in South Korea (Hong-cheon), in India (Patapur), in Rumania (Lazarea), in Japan (Yokohama), and etc. In addition She actively participated in the Global Nomadic Art Project in South Korea (2014) and in India (2015). Currently, the artist is one of the YATOO Commissioners and has been teaching art to children for more than 30 years.
