CARLOS de GREDOS (Hoyocasero, Ávila, 1958) 


He studied Architecture and holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, 1989. He teaches a Master's degree in "Production and Research in Art" at the Faculties of Fine Arts of the University of Granada, Seville and Complutense de Madrid.
His activities focus on landscape interventions, sculpture, performance, video, photography and poetry. He has given workshops and lectures on Art and Nature at international meetings and at universities. He also curates exhibitions. He has participated in the following international artist residencies: "Green Residency", John Muagangejo Art Center of Namibia developed at the College of the Art, 2015. "New Year's Brunch'16", Artspace Studios, Kettering, UK, 2016 and AIR Tsukuba, Japan, 2017.
He is the Coordinator of the Centro de Arte y Naturaleza Cerro Gallinero in Hoyocasero, since its creation in 2008.
As a writer his main interest is poetry in all its manifestations and as a philological researcher he is interested in semantics, investigating the deep meaning of the word beyond its everyday use. In 2000 he began writing. He has published SÍLABA a SÍLABA. Diccionario poético. (Syllable by syllable. Poetic dictionary) Volume 0, Ed. Amargord, 2008 and in 2014 appears Volume I.
In the catalogue Mi lugar de nacimiento (My birthplace), 2007, published by the Junta de Castilla y León, Luis Luna, poet and visual artist, writes about his Poemas Visuales al "Aire Libre" (Visual Poems in the "Open Air").
Editorial Babilonia publishes the monographs Palabra natural (Natural word), 2014 and La palabra fija la imagen (The word fixes the image), 2021, dedicated to his poems in nature.
On 11 August 2022 he gave a lecture on "Spirituality, mysticism and quantum mechanics" at the Espacio Cultural del Barco de Ávila.
He lives and works in Hoyocasero.
