Bibiana Crespo graduated at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona (Spain) in 1994 and finished her PhD on ‘Artist’s Books’ in 2000. She also has a degree in Music Studies from the Liceu Music Conservatoire of Barcelona (1995).
She is a Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona (University of Barcelona) and Principal Investigator of the group ‘Painting, Drawing and Printmaking versus new Procedures and Materials’. She is Associate Member of the Research Groups AciD –Advanced Centre in Drawing– and PlaCE –Place, location, context and environment– from the University of the West of England. She has lectured internationally –at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna (Bologna, Italy), the National Academy of Arts of Sofia (Sofia, Bulgary), the Faculty of Creative Arts, UWE (Bristol, UK), the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Mexico City)- and participated as an artist in numerous residency programmes, eg: Art and Creation Centre, (Lâzarea, Romaia 2008 & 2010); Vyom Art Centre (Jaipur, India 2009); Sixth Kepes Symposium in Nature Art (Noszvay, Hungary 2010); Sandarbh Ineternational Residency (Partapur, India, 2011), Slow Film Festival (Eger, Hungary, 2011) and Wongol International Residence (Korea, 2011).
