I am a Dutch visual artist, making sculptures and installations . As a sculptor I work mainly with wood found in nature. I make my sculptures in an organic way, with feeling.

My installations are often made in nature, in trees, site-specific, often using threads. The installations are a way to make people look at trees, experience nature in a different way. And often they are subtle, meditative. At the same time, I strive to bring nature into the built environment by making installations in buildings.

I also make magical light installations, mainly in trees, creating a quiet, magical experience.

 

CV

Bart started his artistic career in 2003 after having done policy work from 1988 – 2003, mainly on agriculture, nature, spatial planning and international (trade) relations.

As an artist he is autodidact, but he did follow some courses after starting to exhibit in 2009. He exhibits on festivals and in galleries in The Netherlands and abroad. Since 2012 he also makes installations, often in nature.
