ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Arezu Zargar is an interdisciplinary artist hailing from Tehran, Iran, whose artistic journey has been fueled by a deep passion for creative expression. With a diverse range of mediums at her disposal, including ceramics, video art, and installations, Arezu's work captivates audiences and invites them into a world of imagination. Arezu initially pursued a master's degree in paleontology. However, her artistic calling proved too strong to resist, leading her to transition into a career in art.
With a master's degree in Art Research from Tehran University of Arts, Arezu has honed her skills and established herself as a mid-career artist. Arezu has participated in prestigious events and exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Her debut short film was screened at the renowned Nostalgia Film Festival in Milan, Italy, in 2021.
She has also showcased her creations at prominent events like the Contemporary Art Festival in Sorrento, Italy, and the Asian Art Biennial in Bangladesh, 2022.
In addition to her artistic endeavors, Arezu has been actively involved in the Iranian art community. Arezu's art challenges conventional notions and blurs the boundaries between science and art. Through her preferred medium of installations, she creates immersive experiences that provoke introspection and contemplation, inviting viewers to engage with the complex of the human experience.
